About The Position

Chess Wizards is seeking sparkling chess tutors to join our after-school enrichment program. We're looking for special individuals who can cultivate children's love for the game, make chess fun, and strengthen our students' life skills. Requirements

• Some chess ability; champion level is not required, but a great attitude is essential
• USCF rating is a plus
• Teaching/tutoring/camp counselor experience is a plus
• Capability to drive between locations
• Sincere drive to be a positive role model

Nice To Haves

• Experience in teaching or tutoring
• Creative approach to teaching chess

Responsibilities

• Conduct interactive, friendly, and fun classes with 10-15 kids
• Encourage connections between chess problem-solving with real-life problem-solving
• Be a positive role model and promote good sportsmanship
• Utilize Chess Wizard's curriculum and class materials
• Implement CDC, School, and Chess Wizards COVID-19 prevention practices

Benefits

• Competitive Pay: $60 - $75 per hour for a one and a half hour session
• Flexible Hours: Between 1 to 5 one-hour classes per week in the afternoon
