About The Position

The Cherokee Clinical Assistant Professor position at Western Carolina University (WCU) is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term faculty role within the Psychology Department. The successful candidate will work as a licensed psychologist at the Cherokee Indian Hospital while also teaching and supervising graduate psychology students at WCU. Requirements

• Earned doctorate (PhD or PsyD) in clinical or health service psychology from an accredited institution.
• Licensure as a psychologist is required.
• Current or eligibility for licensure in North Carolina is preferred.
• Experience with comprehensive assessment, particularly with pediatric populations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a licensed psychologist at Cherokee Indian Hospital, providing clinical assessments and treatment plans.
• Teach and supervise psychology graduate students at Western Carolina University.
• Conduct at least 40 patient encounters per month (approximately 10 per week).
• Oversee graduate students' training in the McKee Assessment and Psychological Services Clinic.
