The CHEP Deputy Director of Sexual Health plays a pivotal role in managing community-based programs and services aimed at the prevention and treatment of HIV, hepatitis C (HCV), and sexually transmitted infections (STI). This position is under the direction of the Director of Community Health Equity and Promotion (CHEP) branch and involves significant responsibilities in training and capacity building, harm reduction, and overdose prevention. The Deputy Director is tasked with ensuring the effective administration of CHEP contracts and grants related to sexual health, which is crucial for maintaining adequate funding support for staff and programs. In this role, the Deputy Director will cultivate strong partnerships with community-based organizations (CBOs) and external stakeholders to meet programmatic goals and fulfill contractual obligations. A key aspect of the position involves engaging in community outreach and public education about sexual health, particularly in communities most affected by these health issues. The Deputy Director will lead four specific units within the Sexual Health Section, focusing on wellness initiatives for sexual health equity, community-based sexual health services, equity and quality improvement, and community training and capacity building. The Deputy Director will supervise the leads of these units, ensuring that staff produce program deliverables according to established work plans and performance measures. Responsibilities also include applying for funding, managing Requests for Proposals, and overseeing the operational functioning of Health Access Points (HAP). The Deputy Director will direct outreach campaigns targeting communities impacted by HIV/HCV/STIs and will be responsible for drafting reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders regarding CHEP Sexual Health programs. This position may also involve other duties as assigned or required.
