About The Position

The Chemotherapy Infusion Nurse at Minnesota Oncology is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients undergoing chemotherapy and other therapeutic treatments. Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred.
• Current MN licensure and registration required.
• Current or pending OCN certification preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• 2-3 years of nursing experience with IV experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic computer programs is also required.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices.
• Administer chemotherapy and other therapeutic drugs.
• Maintain efficient and appropriate patient flow in the clinic.
• Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient and labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and infusing medications while consulting with the physician regarding dose modifications, problems, and symptom management.
• Ensure nursing charges are accurate and complete on charge tickets.
• Act as a resource for MA and LPN staff.
• Triaging patient phone calls as needed and documenting relevant information in the patient's chart.
• Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching, instructional materials, and community resource information.
• Cross-train in the collaborative nursing area as available.
