About The Position

We are seeking a test technician for our chemistry at our lab in Marietta, GA. The primary responsibilities of the Chemistry Technician II are assisting the chemists and senior chemists in conducting analyses and sample preparation. Technicians also conduct some routine tests that require some data interpretation.

Requirements

  • High School or AA in Science and at least 2 years of experience in a material testing laboratory environment OR Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science field.
  • Technical acumen with knowledge of analytical chemistry testing preferred
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with other team members
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate work tasks based on project needs
  • Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), maintain Lab ISO and process safety procedures
  • Experience using software systems and other tools to track and record information
  • The employee must occasionally lift objects up to 55 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct sample preparation and assist in performing tests.
  • Follow lab processes, test specifications, and perform moderately complex tests
  • Identify equipment and/or maintenance issues and troubleshoot problems
  • Engage with other teams/departments as needed
  • Use tools/systems to track work
  • Gather and interpret data with guidance from others
  • Operate equipment as needed
  • Perform maintenance of the lab equipment
  • Update chemical and equipment inventories
  • Operate independently to complete tasks and responsibilities
  • Other duties as assigned
