Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle lab instruments and computer systems.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to read and interpret data, identify specimens, and communicate clearly in person and by phone.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to access equipment or supplies.
  • Sustained concentration for accurate specimen handling and testing.
  • This position involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues. Employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Medical Technologists (MTs) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs) with a range of laboratory procedures.
  • Use automated instruments, electronic systems, and precision tools; provide basic troubleshooting as needed.
  • Participate in proficiency testing and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, answer phones professionally, and ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Follow established safety and infection control protocols.
  • Take on new duties as operational needs evolve and gain valuable experience for future advancement.
