About The Position

The Chemistry Laboratory Assistant assists the Laboratory Manager with the preparation of chemistry laboratory kits, including apparatus set-up and solutions preparations. The Laboratory Assistant maintains and restocks the laboratory chemicals and equipment stock and maintains/cleans laboratory glassware stock.

Requirements

• Completed the lecture and laboratory coursework of Chemistry 141 and 142 with a letter grade of “C” or higher
• Enrolled in Organic Chemistry lecture and lab or have already completed the series of courses with a letter grade of “C” or higher.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory glassware and equipment
• Able to demonstrate the safe and proper handling of chemicals and laboratory equipment.
• Works well in a group setting
• Can also work independently and without direct supervision.
