About The Position
Intern, Chemistry Genesis Molecular AI is pioneering artificial intelligence guided rational drug design to address severe unmet medical needs for patients. Our lab in San Diego is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our chemistry team. The chemistry intern will have the opportunity to learn lab techniques and apply them to current chemistry challenges at Genesis. About Genesis Molecular AI Genesis Molecular AI is pioneering foundation models for molecular AI to unlock a new era of drug design and development. The company’s generative and predictive AI platform, GEMS (Genesis Exploration of Molecular Space), integrates AI and physics into industry-leading models to generate and optimize drug molecules, including the breakthrough generative diffusion model Pearl for structure prediction. Requirements
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in organic chemistry, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, or related field
- Good multi-tasking, organizational, record keeping, and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary, team-oriented, collaborative, high performance environment
- Enthusiasm, integrity, self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail are necessary
Nice To Haves
- Organic chemistry lab experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Gain chemistry lab skills and apply them to the project
- Document all findings in the chemistry lab
- Attend project meetings with their mentors and present findings
- Prepare a report with final findings at the end of the summer
- Additional duties and responsibilities as required
