Job Summary The Life Sciences Research team provides fast, accurate answers for discovery, safety and efficacy with our world-class facilities and ability to meet unique technical, development and regulatory needs for our clients. We are currently seeking an Inhalation Chemistry Intern for Summer 2026 (May 18th – early August). This position is 100% onsite located at Battelle’s laboratories in Columbus, OH & West Jefferson, OH. The application deadline is January 30, 2026.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Have at least two years of college coursework completed by the start of the internship.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs
  • Ability and willingness to wear a respirator and work with hazardous chemicals
  • Applicant must be US citizen

Responsibilities

  • Assists with inhalation laboratory activities including in vivo and in vitro inhalation.
  • Assists with experiments involving aerosol generation and characterization.
  • Conducts chemical experiments, with direction, and generates chemical analysis data.
  • Performs structured work assignments.
  • Conducts research of organic or inorganic substances.
  • Analyzes and tests new or existing materials to identify their properties and characteristics for the development or improvement of new or existing products.
  • Studies the relationship between chemical and physical properties.
  • Completes technical evaluations and/or assessments of chemicals, chemical reactions, or chemical properties.
