Chemistry Development Intern, Product Development
About The Position
Synthego is a pioneering force in the biotechnology industry, dedicated to advancing the frontiers of CRISPR cell and gene therapies through cutting-edge CRISPR technology and expertise. This summer we are opening our doors and looking to welcome a Chemistry Development intern to partner with our Synthegoats to expand our RNA modification portfolio. This role is for someone pursuing a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or other similar degrees and trying to gain some on-the-job experience in biotech. This opportunity is a 10-week paid internship running from June to August.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or other similar degrees
- Interest in learning about synthetic RNA/DNA
- Interest in learning about process development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
- Ability to work for 10 weeks within a period in June to August
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in labs
- Experience with Python
Responsibilities
- Learn about Synthego's RNA synthesis process
- Learn how to operate Synthegoâs in-house engineered high-throughput oligo synthesizers
- Learn how chemistry parameters affect resulting yield and analytical results.
- Leverage experimental design principles to create your own protocols
- Perform data analysis and present findings to cross-functional teams
- Shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities with industry professionals
- Opportunity to participate in networking events and company meetings
