Our co-op opportunities provide a meaningful professional experience to students and is supported by a hands-on supervisor and a peer mentor to help with the daily maneuvering. Our teams at our Global Innovation Center in the Philadelphia Navy Yard have multiple opportunities across several Research and Development teams and projects to provide a unique, meaningful experience to top co-op candidates, combining the intimacy of a smaller team setting with the innovation and opportunities of a mid-size global company. During your co-op assignment, you will: Work directly with Axalta Scientists on a well-defined project to develop new products, improve manufacturing processes, or solve customer issues Be expected to perform your own work which may be focused on polymer synthesis, paint formulations, or advanced analytical chemistry instrumentation. Have frequent opportunities for direct interaction with our global internal manufacturing and marketing groups, as well as our external automotive customers Prepare and present a report summarizing your project work at the end of your co-op experience

Requirements

  • Candidates must be working toward an undergraduate or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field at Drexel University
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Candidates must show demonstrated ability to learn on the job
  • Candidates must be an effective problem solver with strong analytical skills
  • Candidates must be results oriented and a self-starter
  • Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Candidates must be proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Candidates must have the ability to work in a team environment
  • Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 3.2.
