About The Position

The Chemist I position at Astrix Technology in Cincinnati, Ohio, offers an exciting opportunity to work with a global leader in consumer product development across various industries, including Hygiene, Health and Beauty, Life Care, and cosmetics. The role involves participating in product testing and ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Requirements

• B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or similar.
• 0-2 years of laboratory experience (undergraduate lab experience is acceptable).
• Understanding of pH, viscosity, GC, and basic wet chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all facets of product testing (bulk product, finished product, & packaging material) while being GMP-compliant, including overtime when needed, and recording results in SAP.
• Report all out of specification (OOS) results to a QS Leader or designee and Production, and communicate with suppliers when necessary.
• Release bulk products in a timely manner via SAP when appropriate.
• Review production documentation to ensure compliance.
• Support initiatives of key manufacturing and quality personnel, including testing products for process improvements and adhering to planned requests.
• Ensure the good maintenance state of laboratory instruments, maintain good housekeeping in the lab, and ensure retains are maintained.
• Complete microbial testing set-ups for finished products as needed.
• Support raw material sampling using aseptic techniques as needed.
• Write, edit, and review SOPs and other technical documents.
• Train and mentor technicians on testing techniques.
