About The Position

The Chemist will be responsible for analyzing batches, measuring physical parameters such as Viscosity, pH, and Density, interacting with vendors, documenting, collaborating with supervisor, and entering formulation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (or Biology that has had chemistry and organic chemistry classes).
2- 5 years of experience in R&D, formulation, emulsions, and other forms of color product formulations.
Well organized and highly detail oriented.
Must work well with others and communicate effectively.
Strong understanding of cosmetic raw materials, formulation principles, production equipment.
Strong color matching skills.
Ability to lift and carry up to 10-15 pounds.

Responsibilities

Maintain a lab note book.
Make batches.
Create ingredient qualitative and quantitative list.
Check next day specification from previous day batch.
Follow up with on-going stabilities.
Communicate with raw material vendors.
Attend in-house vendor presentations.
Enter formulation into the company formulator.
Review results with supervisor.
Analyze lab batch measuring physical parameters: Viscosity, pH, and Density.
Assist in the formulation and development of innovative skin care and color cosmetic products, including line extensions and product improvements.
Support in color matching and formulation adjustments.
Support compliance with color regulations and internal quality standards.
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper organization of raw materials and samples.
