About The Position

The Chemist Technician I supports daily laboratory operations by preparing samples, performing routine chemical analyses, and assisting senior chemists in maintaining quality control standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform steroid assays using methods such as LC-MS/MS, GC/MS, immunoassays, or other relevant methodologies. Ensure accuracy, precision, and reliability of test results through rigorous quality control and proficiency testing. Participate in research and development initiatives to expand steroid testing panels or improve analytical methods. Prepare reagents, standards, and chemical solutions according to established protocols. Perform routine extractions, dilutions, and sample preparation for analysis. Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, spectrophotometers) under supervision. Record and verify data accurately in laboratory notebooks and/or the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Conduct routine quality control checks and assist with equipment calibration and maintenance logs. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP, OSHA). Assist with inventory management and laboratory housekeeping. Collaborate with other lab staff to ensure timely completion of testing and reporting.
