About The Position

R&D Chemist is responsible for researching, developing, and validating analytical methodologies for automated chemical analyzers and environmental monitoring sensors. This role plays a key part in advancing chemical testing technologies used in water quality and environmental monitoring. This position is part of the Research & Development Department and supports the development of innovative analytical chemistry solutions that ensure the reliability and accuracy of environmental monitoring systems and will be Onsite in Fort Collins. In this role, a typical day will look like: Designing and performing validation testing to ensure water quality monitoring equipment and analytical methods meet performance expectations Leading photometric and UV-Vis reagent method development for existing and next-generation products Developing and documenting analytical methods to ensure reproducibility and technical accuracy Documenting and presenting research findings through high-quality technical reports Supporting Operations teams in developing QA/QC systems to ensure analyzers and reagents meet analytical specifications Troubleshooting chemical interferences in field applications through bench testing and field sample analysis Supporting product field testing and validation activities Providing technical chemistry expertise to internal cross-functional teams Training and mentoring junior chemists and laboratory technicians Ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety requirements, including safe chemical handling and disposal

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in laboratory research, chemical production, or analytical instrumentation development.
  • Experience in method development, ideally photometric or spectrometric analytical methods.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with industrial analytical instrumentation and sensors used in environmental monitoring.
  • Experience supporting analytical chemistry applications in field or production environments.

Responsibilities
