About The Position

A Chemist I will perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of raw materials, finished products, and stability samples for nutritional supplements. The chemist must be familiar with and knowledgeable of cGMPs, cGLPs, SOPs, along with working in an FDA controlled environment. Position supports other departments for special projects as needed. Position performs other laboratory duties as directed.

Requirements

  • 1 year experience in an academic or professional environment, with a proven track record.
  • BA or BS Degree in Chemistry or related science.
  • Skilled at analyzing data and summarizing results.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills to be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to accurately record and document results following documentation guidelines for cGMP industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of general wet chemistry procedures.
  • Must have knowledge of how to work safely with and around chemicals and their potential hazards.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: lab coat, safety glasses, and gloves.
  • Respirator required for the removal of waste from the laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Performs physical testing and chemical testing of incoming raw materials, finished product, and stability samples utilizing instrumentation such as disintegration, dissolution, Auto-titration, and UV-VIS.
  • Follow cGMPs, cGLPs, Compendia, and SOPs.
  • Perform general lab duties as assigned, for example: replenish test reagents, clean lab, wash glassware.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks/calibration verifications of equipment.
  • Support other departments for special projects as requested.
  • Gather, interpret, and review analytical data.
  • Clean assigned areas of the lab and maintain an audit ready status.
  • Able to train others on specific instruments or techniques proficient in
  • Conduct investigations of any out of specification results.
  • Assists in completing SOP updates.
  • Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.
  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work and must be flexible to assist with workloads without notice of planned/unplanned absences.
