About The Position

Coatings Chemist We are seeking a skilled and motivated Chemist to support our Customer Collaboration Center, contributing to laboratory excellence, product development, and technical innovation in specialty coatings and related applications. This is a fully in person role, located in our Exton, Pennsylvania lab and supports our Coatings & Construction business. The Chemist will be responsible for day-to-day operation of the Customer Collaboration Center, including labratory equipment, raw materials, and facility following GLP's, Quality and Regulatory Requirements. Assists with training and demonstrations for sales and technical marketing personnel in accordance with the standards as laid out by the Lab Manager. Successful candidates will be responsible to:

Requirements

  • Possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with customers and team-members in a professional manner.

  • Proficient with common computer programs, including Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related degree program with relevant laboratory experience
  • A minimum of three to five years of Industrial experience, including formulation of specialty coatings, color matching, plant processing procedures, quality control test procedures, and technical service

  • Master’s degree in chemistry or related degree program with relevant laboratory experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Ensures laboratory equipment, raw materials, and facility meets current health and safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Supports preparation for laboratory trainings and demonstrations for sales and technical marketing personnel
  • Undertakes application and product development studies for internal marketing purposes and customer projects, as required
  • Performs customer, supplier, and internal lab projects assigned by Lab Manager
  • Conducts coatings (paints, industrial coatings, printing inks, adhesives, and construction materials) specific lab studies according to approved standards and regulations
  • Assesses and documents test results in our Lab Information Management System
  • Assists Lab Manager during operation and execution of coatings trainings in the lab
  • Elaborates on guide formulations with local raw materials
  • Inspects the measuring and testing equipment
  • Purchases all needed consumption items after clearance by Lab or local BU Manager
  • Responsible for quality, order, tidiness, and housekeeping in the laboratory
  • Assists with technical workshops and presentations
