About The Position
The Chemist/Environmental, Health and Safety Administrator is located at The Steve Troxler Agricultural Sciences Center (ASC), a state-of-the-art facility housing the NC Department of Agriculture regulatory laboratories responsible for protecting consumers as well as human and animal health. This position provides the opportunity to work with a wide range of labs in the following divisions: Food & Drug Protection - Chemistry, Microbiology, and Pesticide Residue, Veterinary - Animal Disease Diagnostics and Standards - Weights and Measures and Fuel Quality testing. Additionally, the ASC houses a Biosafety Level III lab and an animal necropsy lab. The ASC culture is strongly supportive of safety, training, and professional development in a collaborative work environment. The Chemist/EHS Administrator is a strategic, consultative and operational role and supports site leadership through developing, implementing and maintaining safety programs for the regulatory focused laboratories and the ASC facilities.
