About The Position

Requirements

  • Ability to operate advanced instruments and perform maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Capability to modify equipment controls and test scripts for experimental instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of scientific methodology and good laboratory practices.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to conduct literature searches.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint).
  • Experience with multi-modal communications (direct message, team chat, video conferencing, email).
  • Technical knowledge of good laboratory practices and safety rules.
  • 4-year Technical/College diploma in Chemistry preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' work experience at a technician level in a Chemistry environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a regulated industry.
  • Experience with Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), and Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS).

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory procedures in an applied chemistry lab.
  • Utilize advanced instruments such as Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, IR Spectroscopy, UV Analysis, and Thermal Characterization.
  • Operate lab equipment in complex workflows to generate reliable data.
  • Execute detailed lab protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Document experimental methods and results meticulously.
  • Engage in discussions regarding experimental procedures and observations.
  • Research industry standard test methods to support R&D data needs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment.
