About The Position

The Cheminformatics Scientist at Terray Therapeutics will play a crucial role in the Computational and Data Sciences (CDS) team, focusing on creating tools, databases, and workflows to enhance data accessibility and interaction across various scientific teams. This position is integral to the Molecular Design team and involves collaboration with Medicinal Chemistry, Platform Chemistry, Data Sciences, and Machine Learning teams to support drug discovery efforts through innovative cheminformatics solutions.

Requirements

  • BS/MS/PhD in cheminformatics, computational chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or software engineering with a background in drug discovery.
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL, and ORMs.
  • Proficiency with RDKit and fundamental concepts in cheminformatics (clustering, chemical fingerprints, SMARTS, chemical reactions, etc.).
  • Experience developing web-based tools for chemistry applications (e.g., streamlit, react).
  • Proficiency in a Linux environment and experience with version control practices and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cheminformatics databases and ensure data integrity while expanding them to capture new data types.
  • Build web-based tools for scientists to access and interact with data.
  • Explore chemical space by developing new tools for enumeration and analysis.
  • Develop tools for molecular generation and data analysis to support hit-to-lead and lead optimization efforts.
