About The Position

At Harcros Chemicals Inc., an employee-owned company with a rich legacy in specialty chemical manufacturing and distribution, we're continuously expanding. With 2 manufacturing plants and 27 distribution facilities across 20 states, we're seeking a dedicated Chemical Worker – Formulation professional to join our team to assist with opportunities. Reporting to the Unit Manager, this role will oversee and coordinate the processing of materials and the manufacturing of products in an industrial setting, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of related experience or training in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Forklift Certified preferred.
  • And/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or video presentation.
  • Problem-solving skills in standardized situations.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the start-up, calibration, and operation of plant processes, adjusting conditions such as temperature, charge levels, and cooling as needed.
  • Process production orders, accurately measure raw materials, and prepare them for production.
  • Manage the processing, testing, and packaging of products, ensuring they are properly transferred to the warehouse with all required documentation.
  • Inspect tanks, pumps, scales, and other equipment for cleanliness, functionality, and readiness for use.
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • Generate, handle, and/or inspect hazardous waste and hazardous waste storage.
  • Respond or manage hazardous waste spills and incidents based on the site’s emergency action or contingency plan.
  • Prepare and manage hazardous waste records such as manifests, inspection logs, waste determination and other reports.
