About The Position

Manufactures chemical products from various materials and sources to meet required customer specifications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Job duties may vary based on business needs but may result in generating, handling, and/or inspection of hazardous waste and hazardous waste storage. This can include responding or managing hazardous waste spills and incidents based on the site's emergency action or contingency plan. These duties include preparing and managing hazardous waste records such as manifests, inspection logs, waste determination and other reports. Combines raw materials and operates manufacturing process to manufacture products meeting customer and quality specifications. Monitors tank volumes, temperatures and equipment operation during manufacturing process. Responsible for quality control, takes samples and adjusts blending to meet customer specifications. Calculates batch size and records manufacturing data. Loads trucks and verifies tanks are clean and empty prior to loading. Responsible for proper content and placement of material placards per Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Fills and labels drums and totes. Responsible for checking tank levels prior to unloading and loading trucks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience; and one to three years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to drive a forklift truck and other mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
