About The Position

The Chemical Wet Lab Supervisor will provide leadership for the Metallurgical Lab. The Chemical Wet Lab Supervisor is a critical leader, working in conjunction with counterparts on other shifts, to ensure the overall success of the department and positively impact business metrics, including safety, delivery, quality, throughput, costs, and cycle time, and to sustain profitability for the company. The Chemical Wet Lab Supervisor reports directly to management. Success in this position depends heavily on leadership, communication, and teamwork.

  • Possess a strong background and understanding of industrial chemicals/chemistries and lab scale analytical techniques, e.g., copper, tin, silver, and gold plating, titration, pH, surface tension, spectrometer, and atomic absorption (AA)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3 to 5 years prior Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or equivalent discipline is preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze daily defects, in-process section coupons, and post-production sections for IPC, drawings, specification compliance
  • Work closely with process engineers and production control to develop, implement, and sustain systems and processes
  • Work closely with various suppliers of both chemicals/chemistries and related equipment to identify opportunities for continuous improvements
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies and techniques to ensure critical chemistry process variables are monitored and have effective control and specification limits, as applicable
  • Define and implement new business practices to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Develop, implement, and sustain systems and processes that closely monitor the real-time health of assigned chemical processes to ensure the highest level of product quality possible.
  • Maintain constant awareness of machine utilizations and maintenance activities
  • Train, certify, coach, mentor, and lead Chemical Laboratory Technicians to enable them to reach their full potential and to ensure the highest level of quality standards and conduct are consistently met, daily coaching and interaction with employees
  • Create staffing and production plans to meet manufacturing business plans.
  • Ensure employees have a safe work environment and are complying with company safety policies and PPE requirements
  • Manage and document employee performance and resolve employee conflicts
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as directed by Senior Management
