About The Position

We are seeking a talented, hands-on R&D chemical engineer to contribute to a diverse set of clean-tech research projects involving such topics as: thermochemical biofuel production, biofuel upgrading, wastewater recycling, clean biomass combustion, and gas-to-liquids conversion. We are interested in applicants at all degree levels with specific experience in, but not limited to, any of the following areas:
Design of bench-scale and pilot-scale reactor systems (experience with biomass fast pyrolysis highly desirable)
Chemical characterization techniques such as gas chromatography and spectroscopy
Hands-on experience in a chemical laboratory setting including instrumentation and wet-lab experience
Mechanical experience; as would be used in the conception, design and fabrication of custom laboratory apparatus
Other areas include LabView programming, electronic systems assembly, experimental design, and instrumentation
Job may also include rotations on product development teams for new chemical-related HVAC/R products
We are looking for problem solvers who identify innovative solutions to real world problems; applicants must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in groups

Requirements

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred)
• Work experience (2+ years)
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to US Government ITAR restrictions
• GPA > 3.3 at all degree levels
• Experience in a hands-on laboratory environment
• Mechanical aptitude for fabrication of custom laboratory apparatus
