About The Position

The Chemical Production Operator plays a vital role in the organization by securing raw materials and ensuring the safe production and packaging of various chemical products. This position involves operating machinery, handling materials, and maintaining safety standards within the production environment.

Requirements

  • 1+ years experience working in a chemical plant preferred
  • 2 years experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility
  • 2 years experience operating a forklift preferred
  • Pass forklift driving exam (pre-offer)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with colleagues
  • Effective communication skills and time management
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
  • Previous experience in a chemical plant preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Operate a sit-down forklift
  • Select products for outbound orders
  • Receive product (bulk and packaged) for inbound orders
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Clean vessels such as totes and bulk transports
  • Filter, heat, decant, centrifuge, and dehydrate used oil to make finished product
  • Filter oils to achieve required particle count
  • Perform non-hazardous waste treatment and scheduling
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and general upkeep of production equipment
  • Maintain daily logs and record plant operating data
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with colleagues and customers
  • Collect raw materials and add packs
  • Package chemicals in pails, drums, and totes
  • Decant chemicals into containers as specified
  • Ensure supplies are distributed throughout the facility
  • Neatly store supplies and empty containers
  • Perform general housekeeping of the plant and surrounding areas
  • Clean and store safety equipment for re-use
  • Report process and/or safety equipment issues to Production Supervisor
  • Comply with all safety requirements and PPE regulations
  • Follow WHMIS, MSDS, and safety training requirements
  • Adhere to government and regulatory requirements when handling chemicals
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed
  • Maintain regular and sustained attendance
