About The Position

The Chem Line department at Mistras Group, Inc. is seeking qualified individuals to perform various chemical processing tasks. Employees will be trained to meet internal procedures and customer specifications, including pre-cleaning and etch methods, racking techniques, and handling and packaging parts. Responsibilities also include ensuring safety requirements are met and maintaining quality records. Class 2 and 3 Processors will be trained in Chem Film, Passivation, Etch, and Chemical Cleaning, as well as all aspects of the Chem Line, including Aluminum anodizing. Trainees will work under the guidance of Class 1 Processors and will not independently conduct processing or evaluations until fully qualified.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years' experience as an aerospace or commercial chemical processor.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and translate chemical processing specifications and standards.
  • Ability to execute chemical process steps as specified in customer-specific work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Complete procedural training in pre-cleaning and etch methods.
  • Learn racking techniques for handling, preserving, protecting, and packaging parts.
  • Review work orders and prepare techniques and quality records.
  • Adhere to general department safety requirements.
  • Perform Chem Film, Passivation, Etch, and Chemical Cleaning processes.
  • Verify operations specified by work orders are completed and signed off.
  • Ensure part counts are accurate and parts are free from damage after processing.
  • Document serial number traceability on work orders and parts.
  • Rack and process parts according to work order instructions.
  • Inspect parts after processing and complete required work order entries.
  • Move parts to the next work station or package for shipping.
  • Review work orders for compliance with customer purchase orders and industry requirements.
  • Verify tank tests and analysis logs are completed and documented.
  • Ensure processing tank parameters adhere to specifications.
  • Complete all required work order entries immediately after performing activities.
  • Notify supervision or engineering of any deviations from instructions.
  • Inspect and accept or reject orders based on acceptance criteria.
  • Perform additional tasks or processes as directed by management.
