About The Position

We are hiring immediately for a Chemical Processor. What you will be doing as a Chemical Processor: In this role, you can expect to master the art of electroplating using chromium, cadmium, copper, and zinc. You'll operate ION Exchange Equipment, add chemicals per lab instructions, and calculate surface areas for plating. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to mentor and assist lower grade Operators. Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): Chemical Solution Maintenance: Maintain and monitor chemical composition of solutions to meet specifications Surface Calculation: Accurately calculate surface area for plating requirements Blueprint Interpretation: Interpret specifications and blueprints to ensure process accuracy and allowable tolerances Defect Diagnosis and Corrective Action: Diagnose and correct causes of defective workmanship while also recommending corrective action for any plating issues Electroplating Operations: Plan and control electroplating operations, including electrical current, temperatures, and immersion times to achieve specified plating thickness and texture Stress and Embrittlement Relief: Ensure adherence to specifications for stress relief and embrittlement relief ION Exchange Equipment Operation: Operate ION exchange equipment to condition water to required specifications

Requirements

  • A high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification is required
  • At least 5 years experience in aircraft manufacturing fabrication, including 2 years experience in Chrome Plating is required
  • Ability to work in shop conditions with hot temperatures, exposure to chemicals and fumes while wearing full Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required
  • Ability to lift heavy materials is needed

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to specifications for stress relief and embrittlement relief
  • Operate ION exchange equipment to condition water to required specifications
