About The Position

The Chemical Processor performs secondary processes in support of manufacturing operations, including degreasing, lubrication, etching, anodizing, chromate conversion coating, and roll sorting. The role also involves the daily operation of wastewater treatment systems, which includes chemical tank recharges, daily pH monitoring, flow controls, filter press pumping, and filter cake dryer operation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to speak and understand English.
• Ability to read and comprehend specific instructions in English.
• Basic ability to write numbers and letters.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out routine multi-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional variables.
• Ability to concentrate for long periods of time on given tasks.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to production schedules as required by the company and/or customer.
• Ensures process specifications identified on work order are followed.
• Ensures processing tanks are at proper chemical operating levels.
• Performs and monitors transfer of wastewater from containment through filter press.
• Performs roll sorting of product as required.
• Follows established safety and environmental guidelines.
• Inventories and reports requirements for chemicals and supplies.
• Performs record keeping and housekeeping.
