About The Position

The Production Lead is responsible for promoting a safe work environment and ensuring adherence to production and control standards. The role requires maintaining a quality level of 97% or greater and ensuring on-time delivery (OTD) of 97% or greater with no past dues. The Production Lead will also ensure that turnaround time (TAT) meets or exceeds internal and external customer expectations, specifically maintaining a TAT for the front-end processes of 72 hours or less. This position involves representing the department in Tier 1 and 2 meetings during the absence of the supervisor, allocating resources to mitigate risks to the production schedule, and assisting in the creation of rework operations when necessary. The Production Lead will coordinate with other areas to meet business goals, ensure equipment is operational, and maintain the availability of materials and supplies for daily plans. Additionally, the role includes mentoring and coaching production staff, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and enforcing adherence to quality control policies and procedures. Regular attendance, punctuality, and a willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, are essential. The Production Lead must also adhere to the Corporate Code of Ethical Standards and engage in outside training to improve performance skills.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem solving and leadership ability.
  • Practical knowledge of aircraft components and machining, welding, brazing, blending, masking, plating, coating/vacuum furnaces, inspection and related disciplines.
  • Ability to accurately interpret specifications and/or work in-process documents.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer programs such as ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe work environment.
  • Follow production and control standards.
  • Ensure Quality of 97% or greater.
  • Lead and communicate effectively to Team Members throughout the organization.
  • Ensure OTD of 97% or greater and Past Dues of $0.
  • Ensure TAT meets and/or exceeds Internal and External Customer Expectations.
  • Ensure TAT for the Front-end meets and/or exceeds 72 hours or less.
  • Represent the department in Tier 1 and 2 meetings during Supervisor Absence.
  • Allocate resources to areas of need to mitigate risk to production schedule.
  • Assist Engineering and Production Supervisor with creating rework operations when applicable.
  • Assist Supervisor in daily, weekly and monthly Inventory of WIP.
  • Ensure production of quality parts at the lowest possible cost while adhering to production standards.
  • Coordinate with other areas to meet business goals.
  • Ensure equipment is in proper working order.
  • Ensure materials and supplies are available when required to execute daily plans.
  • Act as a positive role model, mentor and coach to production staff.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow, enforce and support 5S principles.
  • Assign and execute daily and weekly production schedule as directed by Production Supervisor.
  • Re-enforce adherence to standards through coaching and routine follow up.
  • Ensure safe, high quality, cost efficient performance of work.
  • Ensure staff receives adequate training for the operations assigned to them.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Provide accurate and timely performance feedback to Production Supervisor.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality including willingness to work overtime as business demands require.
  • Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
  • Engage in outside training to improve performance skills.
  • Perform repair operations to fill temporary voids in workflow.
  • Perform other tasks in the facility as required by Management.
