About The Position

SKpharmteco is a custom manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients and registered intermediates for customers in the pharmaceutical industry. The company is seeking a Chemical Plant Refrigeration Mechanic to join their team at the Rancho Cordova, CA location. This position does not require any travel, and all duties will be performed at a single location. This is a union position affiliated with Local Lodge 946, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years commercial or industrial experience in refrigeration and air conditioning service work.
  • Must hold current valid CFC certification card and adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding the handling, charging, and recovery of refrigerant.
  • Must have mechanical skills necessary to perform the work described.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures.
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of performance and teamwork to keep the chemical plant facility up to maximum production levels.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Process Cooling Systems (Sub-Zero Chillers, Cooling Towers, and Industrial HVAC systems).
  • Install, overhaul, service, and maintain air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration equipment as related to refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Provide maintenance and construction support for all types of refrigeration systems in fine chemical and pharmaceutical production plants, pilot plants, and laboratories.
  • Maintain humidity control equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and make incidental repairs to electrical and instrumentation equipment associated with the air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
  • Assemble, disassemble, replace, or repair worn and/or defective parts as required on all control components, energy saving devices, back to 480 panel.
  • Periodically check and make mechanical adjustments to equipment to ensure efficient operation and determine need for repairs, replacement, or overhaul.
  • Install and repair insulation in support of the job duties.
  • Use all types of mechanic hand and power tools, hand torches, flaring tools, and test equipment required to perform work.
  • May assist other crafts as required under the direction of the primary craft.
  • Maintain a clean work environment in the plant, shop, grounds, etc., as well as any areas worked in.
  • Use computer for entry of work orders, investigation of parts, access manuals, and training.
