The Chemical Plant Electronics Technician performs calibration, maintenance, and construction support for all types of instrumentation and control devices and systems in fine chemical and pharmaceutical production plants, pilot plants, and laboratories, along with their supporting utilities. This role includes a variety of tasks such as calibration, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, construction, modification, testing, installation, and operational checkout of electronic and electromechanical devices and systems. The devices involved include processing utility instrumentation and controls, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and computer-based controls, laboratory equipment, test equipment, scales, recorders, programmable logic controllers, cameras, radios, and computers. Additionally, the technician is responsible for the validation, calibration, and maintenance of pharmaceutical equipment, which requires a solid understanding of cGMP requirements and regulations, including the calibration and care of reference, transfer, and electrical/electronic primary and secondary standards.
