The Chemical Operator works a rotational schedule to meet maintain 24-hour operation of the manufacturing processes. This position is located at our Rochester, NY plant. Arxada has world class offering in two distinct areas: Microbial Control Solutions (MCS) focuses on threats posed by microorganisms to people and planet through five distinct business lines including Professional Hygiene, Home & Personal Care, Wood Protection, Paints & Coatings and Material Protection. Nutrition, Care & Environmental (NCE), meanwhile, provides materials used to manufacture composites for electronics, aerospace and other markets, as well as vitamins and nutritional ingredients, chemicals and performance intermediates, and raw materials for a wide range of high-performance applications. Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Will consider entry level candidates.
  • Familiar and comfortable with computers, and hand tools.
  • May be required to work overtime as needed.
  • All candidates must be able to work rotating shifts and will receive a shift differential.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Associates degree.
  • Chemical manufacturing or chemical experience background highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for safe and efficient operation of assigned process areas such that all regulatory, health, safety and environmental requirements are satisfied.
  • M us t ac q uir e a w or ki ng k n o w l e d ge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cG MP) and ISO requirements.
  • Will handle hazardous chemicals and hazardous waste during the normal operation of this position.
  • Constantly striving to improve process knowledge, obtain new certifications and maintain existing certifications.
  • Informs supervision in a timely manner of conditions which may affect safety, quality, capacity or cause a process equipment hazard.
  • Planning and responding to emergencies that involve hazardous waste.
