About The Position

Our company is currently seeking a skilled and experienced PETN Chemical Operator for our explosive manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have some mechanical and chemical experience, excellent communication skills, and a high degree of mechanical and chemical aptitude. The successful applicant will be responsible for operating production line equipment, handling and packaging finished goods, loading raw materials, monitoring the production process, operating loading machinery, maintaining work area and equipment, carrying out basic quality and testing checks, data logging, and reporting any issues with equipment directly to supervision. The applicant must be willing and able to cross-train into all positions within the PETN process. The applicant must understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures (Work Instructions) and production directives without deviation. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., sit, stand, climb stairs and qualify for all required PPE. Requirements

  • Must have basic understanding of computers
  • Must be able to handle working in chemical manufacturing environment
  • Must be self-starter capable of working in team or sole contributor
  • Good organization and record keeping skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work overtime when applicable
  • 3rd shift
  • Minimum of a high school education or equivalent mandatory

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience in Chemical Operations
  • Previous working experience with Process Safety Management
  • Explosive or chemical manufacturing
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Previous working experience with Microsoft Word, Excel
