About The Position

A Chemical Operator job in Pittsburgh, PA is available through Belcan. This is a fulltimeopportunity with one of our key chemical clients. Responsibilities; Position is responsible for contributing to the production unit by producing quality products in a safe manner utilizing the procedures and equipment of the Company. Position also has responsibilities of housekeeping, product transfers, truck loading, and facility maintenance. Strong maintenance skills with extensive process equipment is preferred.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED.)
Minimum two years experience in a manufacturing environment; chemical industry preferred.
Ability to function independently in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of hazardous waste materials and the appropriate handling and disposal of such products.
Basic mathematical and computer literacy skills.
Superior verbal and written English communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of basic manufacturing safety and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
Working knowledge of manufacturing specifications and raw materials preferred.
Current tow motor/forklift operator certification/license preferred.
Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Adherence to Company attendance and punctuality policies and standards and corporate values.
Ability to work overtime and shifts.
Ability to meet and maintain established occupational demands and fitness for duty requirements.
Maintenance experience with process equipment repairs, electrical, piping, cutting and welding is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operates multiple equipment systems used in the processing of chemical substances, adhering to formulation specifications and operational safety standards
Cleans and maintains plant manufacturing areas, facility grounds and equipment regularly as required, promoting environmental cleanliness and efficiency; operating process water treatment systems.
Attends and participates in shift meetings and safety sessions as required, providing accurate reporting and confirmations for shift changes and completing job safety evaluations as requested
Receives and completes daily work assignments, documentation and checklists as required, adhering to process and industrial safety guidelines and requirements
Reviews product specifications and formulations for proper safety equipment, tool usage and material specifications, utilizing specified checklists as indicated
Leads the quality review of equipment operation and production outcomes, troubleshooting manufacturing processes and results for potential errors or issues and reporting them as necessary
Obtains and uses the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as instructed, maintaining the condition and storage of such equipment
Conducts in process laboratory testing according to Quality Control and Assurance protocol
Attends and participates in plant productivity, performance and quality meetings and reports as directed
Participates in and completes other projects and tasks as assigned.
Required to complete maintenance on process equipment to the extent of skill level.
Load and unload box trailers, bulk trailers and completes product transfers.
