The Chemical Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and processes. This role involves monitoring and adjusting equipment, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring product quality. The Chemical Operator will work closely with team members to meet production goals and maintain a safe work environment. Starting wage for this position is $22.48 per hour with substantial growth potential to over $30 per hour. This role is on-site in Tyrone, Pa.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Employee must be willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule including days and nights, holidays and weekends and overtime.
  • Employee must successfully pass a background check and drug screen prior to employment.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Previous experience working rotating shifts and/or shifts other than daylight.
  • Advanced mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and monitor manufacturing equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet specifications and report any deviations.
  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to all plant environmental, health, safety, and process safety standards and procedures. Report hazards, deviations, and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of environmental and production data, equipment performance, and maintenance activities.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production targets and support continuous improvement initiatives. Communicates plant status with relief and coworkers.
  • Participate in training programs to stay current with operational procedures and safety standards.
  • Utilize computers and systems for reporting and communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that are equivalent in skill to job requirements.
