About the position

The position involves learning to operate, monitor, and maintain CVD production equipment and support systems under supervision. Once training requirements are met, the individual will perform tasks independently. Responsibilities include ensuring the safe operation of equipment, handling hazardous materials, monitoring processes, and adhering to safety protocols. The role also requires participation in emergency response training and continuous improvement initiatives within the CVD department.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to operate, monitor, and maintain CVD production equipment and support systems.
  • Perform tasks independently once training requirements have been met.
  • Ensure the safe operation of CVD production equipment and handling of hazardous materials.
  • Monitor and log data for CVD processes and safety systems.
  • Adhere to established procedures to reduce the risk of exposure to toxic materials.
  • Participate in the Process Safety Management (PSM) process for compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the CVD department.
  • Actively participate in the Saxonburg Site Emergency Response Team (ERT).

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • 1 to 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of chemistry and physics principles.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Good manual dexterity for working with small components.
  • Strong communication skills for reporting and data logging.
  • Good computer skills for data entry and equipment operation.
  • Moderate mechanical aptitude for process connections and maintenance.
  • Ability to evaluate process conditions and troubleshoot minor issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and hazardous materials handling.
