About The Position

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our PR - Pearl River site's operations team based in Bay St Louis, MS. The ideal candidate for the Chemical Operator possesses a safety mindset and applies a high degree of self-driven ownership and accountability while monitoring and controlling the Melt Phase and Solid Stated Polymerization Process in a continuous manufacturing process environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must be 18 years or older
• Associates Degree in a related technical vocational college or higher and/or 2+ year's chemical operator/handler experience at a manufacturing plant.
• Possess good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Working knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, pressures, and computerized controls systems is desired.
• Possess good interpersonal skills in communication, listening, and good safety practices
• Proficient with computers
• Strong initiative, team player, and positive attitude

Responsibilities

• Monitors operating parameters by reading gauges, instruments, and meters. Compares readings to known requirements, logs information, and takes action as necessary.
• Collects and submits appropriate samples for analysis. Uses analytical and/or process trends to determine whether re-sampling or process adjustments are needed.
• Responds and reacts to any alarms within operating area.
• Utilizes job knowledge, equipment specification sheets, and operating procedures to monitor and make adjustments to the process.
• Starts up and shuts down process equipment using written procedures.
• Knowledge in operation and purpose of equipment such as reactors, pumps, condensers, filters, compressors, and dryers in order to maintain operation of a top quality facility.
