The Chemical Operator I position at Quaker Houghton involves performing production and shipping duties in a manufacturing environment.   • Operates production equipment according to training and work instructions to ensure safety and product quality.
  • Prepares mixing vessels, pumps, and hoses for unloading.
  • Inspects containers for cleanliness and integrity before filling.
  • Fills containers as per batch tickets and prepares them for shipment, including labeling and palletizing.
  • Completes work orders in JDE and maintains accurate batch documentation.
  • Calculates batch yields and responds appropriately.
  • Stores and stages inventory for batch preparation and shipping.
  • Tracks material inventory and performs inventory counts in JDE.
  • Loads and unloads various types of trucks and rail cars, using proper material handling equipment.
  • Completes shipping responsibilities, including receiving POs and preparing shipments in JDE.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area, adhering to plant safety policies.
  • Provides immediate containment and clean-up of spills or leaks.
  • Operates forklifts and other motorized vehicles safely and proficiently.
  • Participates in site safety committee and assists in resolving customer complaints.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 0-1 year of manufacturing experience required; 1-2 years preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret batch sheets, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Positive team-oriented attitude and reliable attendance.
  • Basic mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in small spaces and high locations.
