About The Position

This role is responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary engineering team to deliver improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). The Engineering Operations Manager will lead strategic planning, development, and execution of initiatives to foster engineering talent, drive continuous improvement, and achieve operational excellence. This position requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and problem-solving expertise to address complex challenges and deliver impactful results. GE Aerospace is a pioneer in ceramic matrix composites (CMCs), a revolutionary material technology that enhances jet engine performance by reducing weight, improving fuel efficiency, and enabling higher operating temperatures. Since its commitment to CMC development began in 2001, GE Aerospace has achieved significant milestones, including the 2016 launch of the LEAP engine, which features a CMC shroud and has garnered over 40,000 orders. Building on this success, the GE9X engine became the first commercial jet engine to incorporate multiple CMC components, powering its first flight in January 2020. These advancements highlight the transformative potential of CMCs, positioning GE Aerospace as a leader in driving innovation and sustainability in the aviation industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
• Minimum of 5 years of previous Engineering Management experience required.
• This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) manufacturing required.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Manage a team of engineers across multiple disciplines, including chemical manufacturing engineers, controls engineers, and maintenance engineers.
• Engineering Development: Drive initiatives to develop engineering talent, foster innovation, and ensure continuous improvement in technical capabilities.
• Strategic Influence: Lead strategic planning, development and execution to drive growth and improvements in SQDC. Ensure alignment of resources, policies, and initiatives to achieve operational excellence and organizational objectives.
• Problem Solving: Use high levels of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface with other functions to ensure effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, and functional processes.
• Communication: Communicate difficult concepts and influence others’ perspectives on key topics. Guide others to consider alternative viewpoints.
