The Color Chemical Mixer is responsible for preparing and blending pigments, additives, and plastic resins to produce consistent and high-quality color formulations for plastic manufacturing processes. This role supports production by ensuring accurate mixing according to specifications, maintaining batch records, and performing quality control checks. The mixer operates specialized equipment, follows safety and environmental protocols, and collaborates with production and quality teams to meet color standards and manufacturing goals.

  • Accurate measurement and mixing of colors
  • Ability to match and adjust colors to meet specifications
  • Preparing and managing batches according to formulas and production schedules
  • Inspecting and testing mixtures for consistency, color accuracy, and stability
  • Handling chemicals safely and following OSHA or local safety regulations
  • Basic laboratory techniques
  • Fork lift operation
  • Completing tasks wearing required personal protective equipment
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working as a technician, ideally with polymers testing experience, mixing or blending
  • Fork lift operation experience preferred
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with a diverse set of cross-functional groups
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to perform job with minimal direction from supervision and identify opportunities to develop self
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Willingness to provide overtime coverage and work occasional plant call-outs
  • Willingness to work with hazardous and/or flammable chemicals (with proper safety precautions, training, and equipment)
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in environments that require frequent bending, reaching, and lifting
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs
  • Proficient computer skills are required to effectively use requisite software applications
