About The Position

Tech Met, Inc. an employee-owned company, is a leader in custom and standard chemical milling. Providing services to the Aerospace, Medical, Military and Commercial markets with precision chemical milling on fabricated components since 1988, we specialize in complex and precise chemical milling for build to print and custom projects on a wide variety of materials. Our growing company has an opening for a Chemical Milling Support Technician I. The preferred candidate should have experience working in a manufacturing or manufacturing-related position. This position supports chemical milling production operations. This position may involve exposure to hazardous chemicals and requires the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment, which is supplied by the company. This is a full-time position, on daylight operations M-F, at our Glassport facility.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or a general education diploma (GED)
  • Organizational skills and adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be able to work well in a team
  • Requires Heavy Lifting of Parts 30lbs + and up to 100lbs with assistance
  • Must be able to read & use a non-metric measuring tape
  • Must be able to count & perform simple mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division)
  • Position requires various schedules when necessary, including some weekend hours and/or evening

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating cranes, a forklift and/or pallet jack a plus

Responsibilities

  • With supervision/training this position is responsible for the preparation of customer parts for chemical milling.
  • Performs dip-coating, roll coating and brush coating to customer parts
  • Performs grit-blasting of part areas prior to coatings application
  • Makes additions of coatings and solvents as needed to maintain tank levels
  • Cleans surface of parts and materials to ensure uniform adhesion of maskant
  • Position will be expected to support multiple production processes, both FAA and non-FAA compliant.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Company Code of Conduct
