About The Position
The position is responsible for the receipt, maintenance of records, and inventorying of controlled wastes. The individual will operate a CRT to maintain records related to excess property, precious metals, hazardous wastes, and classified scrap. Additionally, the role involves operating the hazardous material tank farm, mixing crib, and staging areas, conducting inspections, and maintaining inventory and inspection records for hazardous waste operations. Emergency chemical spill cleanup and precious metal recovery operations are also key responsibilities. The individual will issue supplies and containers to operating departments, perform cleanup of controlled materials, and decontaminate as required. The role includes pumping controlled waste to and from tanks, sumps, and pits, cleaning transfer equipment, and performing necessary paperwork related to the tasks. The individual may also perform duties of the Material Handler classification as required.
