We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Chemical Manufacturing Specialist - Team Lead. This position will be located in Vichy, MO. Summary: Chemical Manufacturing Technicians and Specialists play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring the efficient operation of machinery, adherence to quality standards, and timely production of high-quality products.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a relevant technical field and 2+ years of related technician experience or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or Minimum 6 years of related technician experience or An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Execute assembly and chemical production tasks with precision and attention to detail.
  • Follow stand operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in the chemical manufacturing process.
  • Monitor and report any deviations or defects in the chemical manufacturing process.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including equipment logs, quality reports, and inventory documentation.
  • Collaborate with the quality team to document and address any nonconformities.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to create a safe working environment.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
  • Operate process related chemical manufacturing equipment such as pumps, compressors, and valves in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, considering chemical hazards and safety.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues.
  • Monitor chemical manufacturing process equipment and conditions including process levels, temperatures, pressures, and flow rates.
  • Assist and prepare intermediate or finished product synthesis, formulation, purification, bottling, labeling, and packaging.
  • Interpret test results on chemical materials and products and compare against specifications.
  • Observe chemical materials and process behavior.
  • Identify nonconformities and act based on control plans or material review.
  • Comply with cleanroom protocols and perform general housekeeping tasks and clean-up procedures.
  • Review product workbooks and communicate any changes needed to process engineer or supervisor.
  • Provide input on process changes and contribute to the development of best practices.
  • Collect chemical samples and perform field checks, adjusting control systems and manually operated equipment based on process and lab data.
  • Participate in product or material failure analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and quality, to optimize production processes.
  • Conduct routine chemical manufacturing equipment checks, troubleshoot issues, and perform minor repairs.
  • Identify and report any deviations or defects in the chemical manufacturing process.
  • Assemble, operate, and perform maintenance on chemical fluid transfer and handling equipment such as pumps, tubing, and filters.
  • Perform tasks and comprehensive processes to manufacture intermediate and finished chemical products.
  • Utilize process control and process information systems to assess and optimize plant performance.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance chemical manufacturing processes and efficiency.
  • Collect and report plant measurements related to performance, asset utilization, quality, cost yields, environmental, safety, production rates, etc.
  • Independently operate and maintain chemical manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on chemical manufacturing machinery.
  • Train and mentor entry level technicians.
  • Exercise judgement on details of work and in making preliminary selection of alternatives.
  • Work on projects that require minimal supervision and supervisory approval.
  • Apply knowledge in all phases of chemical manufacturing in a product line, including batch documentation, SPC, process deviations, and Control of Non-Conforming Product.
  • Serve as product batch champion, responsible for ensuring the product meets all requirements and specifications.
  • Determine root causes of deviations in chemical manufacturing processes, products, or equipment.
  • Assist engineers in programs for product and process characterization, continuous product and process improvements, equipment installation and implementation of quality systems.
  • Lead process improvement projects to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams on new product development.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Oversee the troubleshooting and resolutions of complex technical issues.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the team.
  • Participate in the hiring process, train, and mentor new team members.
  • Review and approve training requests, timecards, and expense reports.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance conversations.
  • Manage employee success by setting clear expectations, providing continuous feedback, supporting professional development, and creating an environment of psychological safety and intentional inclusion.
  • Participate in continuous coaching development.
  • Communicate and coordinate alignment with other teams.
