About The Position

This position requires an active Public Trust clearance. The Chemical Logistics Center (CLC) Technician will support the Government in the operation of the CLC to ensure compliance with Federal Hazardous and Texas Industrial Solid Waste regulations. The role involves assisting production and non-production departments with the continuous supply of solvents and chemicals, as well as handling waste storage, treatment, and disposal. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Chemical Logistics Center Technician: $70,000-74,000 Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and Federal/Texas regulations preferred.
  • Experience in chemical logistics or a related field.
  • Ability to work during required hours and perform physical tasks, including forklift operation.
  • Strong recordkeeping and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong inventory background
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal

Responsibilities

  • Flammable Liquid Storage Building (FLSB)
  • Unload and place totes and drums in the FLSB.
  • Maintain orderly arrangement and conduct inventory of solvent and flammable chemicals.
  • Inspect totes and drums to ensure good condition and proper labeling.
  • Maintain and inspect secondary containment.
  • Relocate and hook up supply lines for the solvent delivery system.
  • Inspect and maintain EE-rated forklifts, including recharging.
  • Solvent Dispense System
  • Operate and maintain the solvent dispense system, ensuring cleanliness.
  • Collect empty solvent containers from production areas.
  • Dispense solvents, measure and record quantities.
  • Prepare full solvent containers for production retrieval and ensure proper labeling.
  • Record solvent data and provide accurate documentation.
  • Troubleshoot dispensing station issues and manage recordkeeping and data entry.
  • Consolidated Chemical Storage Area (CCSA)
  • Unload and place chemical containers in designated areas.
  • Ensure proper segregation of chemicals per CCSA plan.
  • Conduct inventory and maintain orderly arrangement.
  • Inspect and recharge forklifts.
  • Fulfill chemical requests as needed.
  • Central Waste Accumulation Area (CWAA)
  • Move regulated waste to CWAA and log incoming waste.
  • Ensure containers are properly labeled and set up empty drums for waste SAAs.
  • Inspect and maintain secondary containment.
  • Support waste shipments by transferring drums to the loading dock.
  • Manage waste streams, including aerosol cans, wipes, lab waste, solvent waste, and batteries.
  • Collect waste from SAAs and manage waste drop-off.
  • Retain lab services for waste analysis and prepare for sampling.
  • Conduct and document forklift inspections and ensure readiness for next-day use.
  • Provide additional staff as needed to meet Government requirements.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
