About The Position

The Chemical Loading Safety and Training Supervisor at PSC Group in Bay City, TX, is a leadership role focused on ensuring safety and training compliance in a large chemical plant. The position emphasizes a servant leadership approach, mentoring and coaching employees to prioritize safety and environmental performance. The supervisor will be responsible for developing and maintaining safety procedures, conducting training, and analyzing safety performance metrics. The role requires availability for call-outs and involves regular interaction with employees and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4+ years' experience in a leadership role involving safety, training, HSE and/or operations.
  • Experience developing safety and/or operational procedures and policies with strong technical writing skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.
  • Experience in formal incident investigation and lessons learned process.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to be innovative, self-motivated, and promote a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures safety and training compliance over truck loading, rail car loading, and dock operations.
  • Certifies on loading positions to load trucks, railcars, and barges as needed.
  • Maintains a field first approach to safety.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates safety and training procedures.
  • Maintains all safety and training documents.
  • Coordinates and drives training in all field level functions.
  • Provides regulatory guidance and interpretation for safety issues.
  • Tracks and reports safety and training performance of the site utilizing KPI's.
  • Analyzes safety improvement areas to provide recommendations and solutions that can be implemented.
  • Conducts regular field safety observations and creates innovative ideas to improve safety.
  • Monitors and mentors employees to ensure adherence to safety policies.
  • Reviews safety observation data and develops action plans to address industry hazards.
  • Leads formal incident investigations and produces written reports.
  • Coordinates meetings to motivate and communicate safety expectations and goals to all PSC employees.
  • Builds safety presentations and presents material in front of a large group of employees weekly.
  • Interfaces regularly with customer's Health, Safety & Environmental contacts.
  • Facilitates the site safety recognition program and develops effective Lessons Learned packages.
  • Ensures all employees take their annual physicals and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Participates in special safety and leadership training as requested.
  • Completes any other duties that may be assigned.
