Chemical Engineering Technician - Contractor Zeno is seeking a highly motivated Chemical Engineering Technician to support the efforts of developing and bringing to market Radioisotope Power System (RPS) technologies. In this role you will: Perform experiments and testing under direction of the project Chemical Process and Test Engineers. Document experimental procedures, safe operating procedures, and job hazard analyses. Analyze and interpret data and report results to broader chemistry and engineering teams. Plan, procure, setup, and commission laboratory and pilot process and test equipment. Perform material characterization using techniques such as ICP-OES, XRD, SEM, etc. Use equipment and instrumentation to monitor and record pressure, temperature, and other process conditions. Assist with literature searches and technical research. Stock and monitor laboratory supplies. Assist and support the Hardware and Chemistry lab. Support quality assurance to ensure results that meet Zeno Power’s quality management system. Support EH&S to ensure a safe working environment. Help manage and facilitate chemical waste collection. Assist with instrument and equipment maintenance and calibration. Support Zeno Power's Safety Culture.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in Chemical, Materials or Mechanical Engineering or Sciences from an accredited university
  • 2+ years of laboratory, pilot, or other test experience
  • Hands-on experience in chemical engineering, process engineering, materials science, or related field
  • Ability to communicate across disciplines
  • Experience presenting data, analyses, and results to diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to coordinate and lead efforts with minimal direction
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills
  • Possess an eagerness to learn

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with radioactive materials is a plus
