About The Position

Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Process Engineering team in Ave Maria, Florida (AMIE) is responsible for supporting the Laser, Passivation, and Cleaning operations at AMIE. Arthrex is optimizing the process parameters to improve the laser mark stability during passivation of medical devices by characterizing the contributors that impact the finished product. The Engineering Intern will work with Laser parameters and residuals present during the machining and cleaning of medical devices. This internship will run from May 2026 – August 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 30-40 hours per week at our Ave Maria, FL facility.

Requirements

• Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Chemical Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
• Basic Knowledge of Statistics.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Laser, Design of Experiment and/or Material Analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Impact of residuals on Laser Marking molded PEEK and ABS.
• Impact of temperature and gauss levels on laser mark stability.
• Analysis of residuals from Chemical Characterizations of devices.
• Optimization of Picosecond Lasermarking for devices.
