Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or environmental engineering.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in environmental investigation, remedial design, and remedial construction.
  • Fundamental understanding of sampling environmental media, including groundwater, soil, sediment, air, or biological tissue.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret and develop both written technical documents and tabular presentation of data.
  • Experience with RI/FS, assessment and remedial design/action governed by CERCLA on Federal projects.
  • Experience in working on PFAS investigation and/or treatment projects.
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software, including Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current HAZWOPER certification is desirable.
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) is highly desired.
  • PMP Certification a plus.
  • Experience working closely with permitting, natural/cultural resources, and construction management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support related to PFAS and other environmental contamination on characterization/remediation projects.
  • Support the planning, execution, and management of complex projects and field programs.
  • Evaluate chemical distribution and transport through soils, groundwater, surface water, and sediment.
  • Plan and conduct tasks such as pilot tests and treatability studies, engineering designs, construction oversight, operation, and maintenance (O&M), and report writing.
  • Manage tasks including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, design and implementation, troubleshooting and optimization of remediation engineering projects.
  • Prepare work packages and develop remedial solutions for various government, commercial, and industrial sites.
  • Support project managers and subject matter experts in evaluation of emerging and innovative technologies.
  • Develop, plan, and implement sampling programs for multi-media environmental sampling.
  • Contribute to proposal efforts by performing detailed cost estimates and drafting key text elements of proposals.
  • Develop technical specifications, scopes, and cost estimates to support procurement of subcontractors.
  • Perform field inspections and monitoring activities at client sites.
  • Prepare all work products in accordance with Tetra Tech QA/QC programs and professional engineering standards.
  • Provide marketing and business development support to proposal leads.
