Chemours is seeking a Chemical Engineering Intern to join our Ore Technology team! This position will receive functional guidance from Scientists and Principal Investigators. As a Chemical Engineer Intern, you will work closely with the Titanium Technologies team gaining valuable experience through hands-on projects in a laboratory environment. You will work closely with other engineers and chemists to drive process optimization and new process development through experiments, data interpretation, and literature reviews. Location: Newark, DE Hours: Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week Term: 3-month assignment between May-Aug 2026 (i.e. 3-month assignment between May-August)

Requirements

  • Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a Junior or above at time of assignment
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or similar fields

Nice To Haves

  • 3.0 GPA or above
  • Previous experience (industrial or academic) with the following chemical processes: reaction engineering, thermodynamics, titration, filtration, and distillation.
  • Experience working with chemicals
  • Hands-on experience with building laboratory setups

Responsibilities

  • Working with experienced R&D professionals on process technology developmental projects
  • Participating in process safety management activities and reviews
  • Lab work including the design, construction, operation, and optimization of lab-scale unit operations including reactors, filters, ovens, mixers, pumps, etc.
  • Supporting multiple projects with data analysis, data recordkeeping, and data sharing with team members.
  • Contributing to team meetings and conference calls
  • Safe handling of chemicals and safe operation of chemical processes
