About The Position

At Harcros Chemicals Inc., an employee-owned company with a rich legacy in specialty chemical manufacturing and distribution, we're continuously expanding. With 2 manufacturing plants and 27 distribution facilities across 20 states, we're seeking a dedicated Chemical Control Systems Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Unit Manager, this role will be responsible for overseeing the processing of materials and the production of goods within an industrial setting. The Chemical Control Systems Operator will also be monitoring equipment, managing hazardous materials, and ensuring the smooth operation of production processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or video presentation.
  • Problem-solving skills in standardized situations.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects or tools, reach with arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor equipment such as reactors, pumps, coolers, and vacuum systems to maintain proper conditions (pressure, temperature, flow).
  • Respond to changes in production processes to ensure consistent output.
  • Follow established procedures to produce products efficiently and safely.
  • Calculate batch sizes and record manufacturing data.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks, including tank trucks and tank cars.
  • Transport materials to designated areas within the facility.
  • Ensure the proper operation of safety systems and valves and perform required inspections.
  • Complete all necessary production and transfer forms accurately.
  • Generate, handle, and/or inspect hazardous waste and hazardous waste storage.
  • Respond or manage hazardous waste spills and incidents based on the site’s emergency action or contingency plan.
  • Prepare and manage hazardous waste records such as manifests, inspection logs, waste determination and other reports
